A »die erweiterung des alphabets« (1987) is a cut-up, underlining the political act of using samples: from politicians, radio interviews and field recordings; added is an industrial rhythm on metal sheets and pieces.

B »...gesichter in der wand in der luft...« (1981) was a live recorded co-production of the three individuals involved – Stefan Römer, Klaus Weyell, Ursula Bauer –, including an experimental psycho narration and using: Korg MS-20, SQ-10-Sequenzer and Copycat (WEM) with a mono tape deck (Philips).


The title »die erweiterung des alphabets (the extension of the alphabet)« was a programmatic title: Stanley (Stefan Römer) published these sound pieces in 1988 on the occasion of his performance in Schloss Brühl. The earlier performance with the same title was meant as a statement on the occasion of the opening of the new building of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne 1986.

At that time Stefan Römer made performances which included different sound structures; they were mixed live from various parallel connected endless- and standard-cassettes plus live microphones and instruments. In parallel bodily and vocal actions happened.
